Latoya Johnson McRae
Author, Certified Life Coach, Creative Consultant
Latoya Johnson-McRae is an author, professional life coach, motivational speaker and a woman of faith. She is a graduate of North Carolina A&T State University in Greensboro, North Carolina, where she developed a passion for mentoring underprivileged youth. Additionally, Latoya is an advocate for childhood sexual abuse awareness. As a living kidney donor, Latoya is also a major advocate for kidney awareness.
Latoya is a chapter author for Unexpected Pathways: The Journeys of Women in the Workforce and the co-author of a children’s book entitled, “Kingston’s Krown.” Latoya resides in South Carolina with her husband Dr. Michael A. McRae and their three children.
Rubies
Survivors of child sexual abuse are growing in numbers each year. When a girl is abused sexually it leaves a lasting imprint on her life. The impact can affect her self-esteem, decision making skills and her ultimate goals in life. There are extreme circumstances that time alone cannot heal. Rubies 40-day prayer journal will provide inspiration to survivors of child sexual abuse. It will offer an outlet to reflect on their experiences while using the word of God to aid them in a healthy healing process. Throughout the next forty days, survivors will come face to face with their experiences and gain control over their emotional and mental health as it relates to childhood trauma. Past trauma does not have to control your future. There is power in praying the promise of God.
